Two months after the launch of the ‘Mexico hugs you’ program, the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) reported almost 60,000 labor vacancies throughout the country aimed at deported Mexicans from the United States.

Companies such as FEMSA, Grupo Carso, Walmart, Coppel, Lala, Ark Continental, Bayer, Grupo Lego, GEPP, Bara, Grupo Peñafiel and Grupo Bimbo head the list with the highest number of vacancies, according to the Mexican employer in a statement.

These efforts are part of the ‘Mexico hugs you’ program, a strategy with which the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum, seeks to reintegrate the Mexicans deported by the administration of President Donald Trump through job offers, social programs, transfer support for the country and the ‘Welfare country card’ with 2,000 pesos (about $ 98).

The president of the CCE, Francisco Cervantes Díaz, informed that he works on a digital platform to facilitate the interaction between employers and repatriated people.

The program has support from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, which promote vacancies at repatriation points and offer assistance to channel applicants to employment centers.
