The Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, informed that her government prepares a proposal to face territorial displacement, after the demonstrations against the Gentrification recorded on Friday, according to a note from the Quadratín Mexico agency.
Without specifying a specific date, Brugada just said that “we will soon present what is necessary for the city to remain of all” and condemned the acts of violence that took place during the demonstration.
“There is no place for xenophobia and discrimination, not because they come from other countries to live in the city, we will mistreat them, here they are all welcome. It is necessary to reject discrimination because it is an ethical and political obligation,” he said.
He informed that the proposal will include mechanisms that guarantee that neighbors can stay in their colonies of origin, seeking a balance between urban development and the right to housing.
He pointed out that clear rules will be implemented so that Mexico is still a city without space for hatred or exclusion.

Clara Brugada indicated that the proposals you will present will have as its main mission to create clear rules to reaffirm that the CDMX “embraces the differences.”
These statements are given after President Claudia Sheinbaum reproached violence against foreigners and after she said she will work with the head of government for the creation of public policies that solve the problem.
“There can be no gentrification due to the registration of the area, we will accompany Clara Brugada to seek a mechanism that does not make the standard of living, but we are a country open to the world,” said the president at her press conference.
