The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) said that together with the National Energy Control Center (CENACE) it has carried out actions to ensure all sectors of the country the availability and reliability of the electricity supply.

Therefore, he said in a statement, user disconnection has not been necessary, since conditions of reserve margin have been maintained in the national electrical system (SEN).

He said that he has achieved it despite the fact that since May, as the ambient temperature increases, the summer window begins and with it the most critical period of the year, in which the demand for electricity is increased and the need to have enough energy to maintain the reliability and safety of the system.

He said that during 2025 the Operational Reserve Margin (MRO) in the National Interconnected System (SIN) has been higher on average than 12%.

He stressed that at the most critical moment, on June 9 (the day in which the maximum demand, 52,945 MW) was filed, the MRO was 9.69%.

He added that the stability of the SEN is due to preventive actions to have available generation park and thus be able to supply electricity.

“The national electrical system represents more than 110 thousand km of transmission lines and almost one million km of distribution lines nationwide, few systems in the world have this extension and capacity, which are exposed to external effects that can interrupt the service, such as frost, winds of winds, tremors, hurricanes and floods among others,” said the CFE.

This Monday the newspaper Reforma published that under threat of sticking to being the object of blackout, the CFE and the CENACE ask the Nuevo León industry to reduce its consumption in the so -called “peak hours” of demand.

“The CENACE has asked certain industrial users – due consumers – to reduce their consumption in certain periods of time,” Roberto Mercado, commercial director of the Epscon consultant.

“This behavior does not respond to a lower energy need, but to the operational limitations of the national electrical system: lack of generation and saturation capacity in the transmission and distribution lines of the CFE,” he added.

After the middle note, President Claudia Sheinbaum said this morning that the national production of electricity is not at risk and that industries or punishments are not imposed on industries.

“Many times what is done is to ask companies: ‘Do not produce so much from 6:00 to 9:00, but get better in the morning’ so that we do not have so much pressure from 6:00 to 9:00 at night, in which all plants have to work at the same time,” he said at his morning conference.

That can be one of the orientations, but it is not, in any way – by reasons of electricity generation – at risk national production, much less, ”he added.
