Alongside Wuthering Heights stars Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie, Charli joined SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show recently, where the Brat artist was asked about potentially working on the Bond 26 theme song.

“I got to say, I don’t think that I am built for that. I think I probably sing with too much AutoTune to do a James Bond,” she said. “Never say never. I’m open to it if they want to call me, which they won’t but, yeah. I think it might not be a fit, but that’s, well, yeah. It’s not going to happen now, is it? So amazing. I don’t know.”

There’s still much to be figured out when it comes to Bond 26, though decorated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is on board as director. The casting of James Bond is still up for grabs as well. It’s been five years since the last installment of the British spy series (2021), which is the longest drought between films in the series.

The British pop star crafted the entire Wuthering Heights soundtrack, and the album is slated to arrive alongside the film’s U.S. theatrical release on Feb. 13. The soundtrack boasts 12 songs and a surprise collaboration with Sky Ferreira.

“Emerald [Fennell] kind of hit me up at the end of 2024,” Charli said during the interview of how she got involved. She just texted me which was a bit of a surprise. We don’t really text that much, so I was like ‘Oh, hi, Emerald,’ and she told me about the screenplay and asked if I would do one song and I honestly devoured the screenplay.”

She continued: “It just really was so alive to me on the page and I immediately felt inspired to kind of write more than just one song and I asked her whether she’d be interested in a whole album, and she said yes and that was kind of the beginning, and the whole process was so free, I mean, with everybody involved in the film. I really felt I had the space to create kind of whatever I wished and I was just so obsessed with the world. It really just flowed.”

Charli’s busy in Hollywood these days. The singer’s Brat mockumentary The Moment hit select U.S. theaters on Friday (Jan. 30). Kylie Jenner will appear in the A24 film alongside Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant and Alexander Skarsgård.

“I’m obviously quite related to my character, so I had a lot of inspiration to pull from,” she said while explaining how she dramatized herself during a panel about the film. “I would like to think I’m not as much of a nightmare as Charli in the film, but my real managers are in the audience and they probably know the true answer to that.”
