The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) offers travelers a bright, amenity-filled space that pays homage to its location in the City of Brotherly Love.
At 20,000 square feet, the Philly location is among the largest in Chase’s network. It’s just shy of the 21,800-square-foot and two-story Sapphire Lounge at New York-LaGuardia, and it’s double the size of the Chase Sapphire Lounge in San Diego. The Chase lounge makes use of the ample space, bringing back familiar amenities like showers, facial treatments and arcade games, while introducing a beer garden serving local craft beers.
NerdWallet visited the lounge during a press preview before its opening day on Feb. 20, 2025. Here’s what to know about the Sapphire Lounge at PHL.
Where is the Chase lounge at Philadelphia International Airport?
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at PHL is located in the connector between the D and E terminals, where non-American Airlines domestic flights typically depart from. If you’re clearing security at the checkpoint from those terminals, the lounge is the first thing you see past security. You’ll enter the space through the sliding doors, and the upstairs lounge is accessible via the stairs or the elevator.
The lounge is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Even if you are flying on American, you’ll still be able to access the lounge. All of the airport’s seven terminals are connected by post-security walkways, but make sure you budget enough time. The furthest gate, A26, is a roughly 25-minute walk from the Chase Sapphire Lounge.

Design
Like other Chase Sapphire lounges, the Philadelphia outpost leans heavily into a blue and gold color scheme, while sprinkling the space with Philly-specific touches.

The first thing you see upon entering the lounge is the striking bar, offering up Chase’s signature cocktails, as well as locally inspired ones, including the Philly Special — a nod to the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2018 Super Bowl-winning play.
The bar and surrounding tables is a moody space, as it’s the only communal area of the lounge that does not directly face the giant windows overlooking the tarmac.

The lounge includes a variety of seating options, with armchairs, couches and tabletops for small and large groups. There’s seating for 295 people, the most of any Chase lounge. (LaGuardia’s lounge has more square footage, but a chunk of that is devoted to private suites with a pricey upcharge.)
And of course, Chase’s signature water vapor fireplace makes a return at the PHL lounge.

The large windows that line the lounge allow tons of natural light into the space, making it feel bright and airy. The natural wood tones help add to that vibe as well.

The centerpiece of the lounge is its beer garden, which has its own food and drinks menu. Here, you can order special items like cheesesteak sliders and potato pancakes, as well as sample a beer flight. There are four local beer selections on tap, which will be rotated quarterly.

For entertainment, the beer garden includes a shuffleboard table, a foosball table and two two-player arcade machines, as well as four TVs.
Here, you’ll also find a mural by local artist James Burns, who grew up in the area and was inspired by his favorite spots in Philly. The piece was designed for the space and pays tribute to the city’s portals and pathways, such as Pennypack Creek.

Game room
Across from the beer garden is the game room, featuring a dedicated space with more retro arcade games, a sports memorabilia wall and six TVs.

In fact, having televisions in a Chase Sapphire lounge is a feature that’s unique to Philly, a nod to the city’s love for sports.

Food and drinks
On the menu, you’ll find Chase Sapphire Lounge staples, like the Sapphire burger and fries. But you’ll also find offerings unique to the Philly outpost, with curated dishes developed by Middle Child Clubhouse, a local spot serving up fresh takes on Philly sandwiches and classics.

For a DIY-option, try an off-menu staff favorite by topping the kale avocado salad with the truffled chicken.

Like other Chase Sapphire lounges, there is a self-serve buffet, as well as additional made-to-order food items available through an online ordering system. While there’s a lot of seating in the dining area, you can order from wherever you’re sitting in the lounge.

There are beverage stations available throughout the lounge, including coffee roasted by local chain Elixr Coffee.
You’ll also find snacks like biscotti and fruit, as well as other drinks including spa water, cold brew, soft drinks and Leisure electrolyte water.

Cocktails and premium spirits are available from the bar, featuring local brands like Union Forge Vodka and Bluecoat Dry Gin, as well as wines curated by Parcelle. Cocktails can be made alcohol-free upon request.

Facial treatments
Guests can book a complimentary 30-minute facial treatment offered by Face Haus in one of the two treatment rooms.
After you finish, you’ll get a small amenity kit with Face Haus products to take with you on your journey.

Rest pods
If you’re looking for peace and quiet, you can book one of the six private rest pods. Earplugs and eye masks are provided to help you relax.
To maximize your lounge experience, arrive early and book a rest pod with your facial. Based on experience at other Chase lounges, these amenities can book up quickly.

Showers
The lounge features two spacious showers, with amenities like a dental kit, floss picks, a comb and a Dyson hair dryer. Bath products are provided by Apotheke, the same brand as in other Chase lounges.

There’s even a digital tablet in each shower room if you need to order additional amenities.
Phone rooms
If you need to make a call, the lounge includes two large phone rooms for you to do so.

Family-friendly spaces
There’s also a nursing room and kids play area available for families visiting the lounge. There’s no additional charge for children under the age of 2 to enter the lounge with a parent, but older children will count as a guest. Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders are allowed two complimentary guests with entry.

Is the Chase Sapphire Lounge PHL worth it?
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club at PHL is the newest lounge on the block, and Philly travelers will surely take notice of the elevated dining and wellness amenities in an enormous space — especially if they’re flying on an airline that’s not American. (American flyers will need to decide for themselves whether the short hike to the D/E connector is worth it, but the answer to that is likely yes.)
At 20,000 square feet, the Chase location is more than triple the size of the airport’s American Express Centurion Lounge, which is located in Terminal A-West. Other Philadelphia airport lounges include a United Club, a Delta Sky Club and multiple Admirals Clubs, since the airport is a hub for American Airlines. However, airline-specific lounges typically have strict rules for admission, such as flying on an international itinerary while having elite status, requiring a boarding pass for that airline or one of its partners, or holding the airline’s most expensive credit card.
Plus, this Chase Sapphire lounge in Philadelphia may be the best in the network for general travelers. While the LaGuardia lounge is technically the largest location, guests cannot access the showers there unless they book one of the private Reserve Suites, with pricing starting at $2,200.
For most travelers, the Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club at PHL will be their best choice for a comfortable and luxurious place to relax and be pampered before their flight, as long as they have a qualifying Chase card or a Priority Pass membership.
