The company today launched its new O3 and O4-mini reasoning models, which allow Chatgpt to perform photographs, book diagrams, schemes or drawings made by hand and, at the same time, manipulate the images on the fly, turning them, expanding or editing them.
In this way, the ‘chatbot’ will not limit himself to seeing an image but also “think” with her, Openai said in a statement.
According to the company, directed by Sam Altman, Openai O3 is its most powerful reasoning model to date and is useful, above all, in visual tasks such as the analysis of images, tables and graphics.
Thus, in evaluations carried out by experts, O3 has committed 20% less errors than the O1 model in various functions such as programming or business consulting, and also has better performance than its predecessor, O3-MINI, in areas such as data science.

Both O3 and O4-mini follow the instructions and give more natural, personalized and similar responses to a casual conversation, the company added.
The company stressed that this is the first time that its reasoning models can use and dynamically combine all chatgpt tools, including internet search and file analysis and other data.
In this sense, the models are trained to reason when and how to use these tools to produce detailed responses, usually in less than a minute, and solve more complex problems.
Just today, the CNBC chain reported that Openai is in conversations to buy Windsurf, a tool of AI focused on coding, for about 3,000 million dollars.
