The artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, from the American company OpenAI, the most popular on the market, stopped working normally around 12:30 p.m. (18:30 GMT).

OpenAI has acknowledged in its own service that it is suffering from a high percentage of errors and that it is working to try to solve the problem.

The American company assures that it has identified the origin of the failures, which also affect Sora (text video generator), and that they are evaluating them.

According to OpenAI, the problem has been caused by a third-party provider.

The company has announced that it will provide more information in this regard as soon as possible.

Around 12:30 Mexico time (18:30 GMT), ChatGPT users have begun to report problems with the service, according to reports sent to the Downdetector application.

When performing a search in ChatGPT, the chatbot (a computer program with which you can have a conversation) does not respond to the query and reports that “something has gone wrong.”

“If this issue persists, please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com,” the message adds.

The service became popular at the end of 2023 for the multiple functionalities it offers and for answering all kinds of questions.

ChatGPT has 300 million active users per week. 1 billion messages are sent through its platform every day, according to data from OpenAI.
