The number of Chinese companies dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence (AI) exceeded 5,300 in September, which represents 15% of the world total, according to data from the Chinese Academy of Information Technology and Communications (CAICT) released by the Xinhua agency.
In addition, and according to the same source, the value of the AI industry of the Asian giant experienced an interannual leap of 24% in 2024, to represent more than 900,000 million yuan (about 126,414 million dollars).
By sectors, the income of the companies specialized in the development of basic infrastructure, architecture of industrial models and applications increased by 54%, 18% and 13% interannual, respectively, last year.

China launches more than 1,500 AI models
The CAICT pointed out that the “smart hardware” composed of phones, computers and cars driven by AI “is experiencing rapid growth” in China.
According to data presented last July at the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence (WAIC), China launched more than 1,500 large -scale artificial intelligence models to date, the largest worldwide, which consolidates its position as power in the sector.
This expansion is part of the global struggle for technological leadership, which led the Asian giant to propose an action plan for international governance of AI based on cooperation and opening, in the face of the United States strategy, focused on reducing regulations and defending its own model of technological values.
