China submitted a revised request for difference solution consultations with the United States to address the new US tariffs applied to originating goods from China, the World Trade Organization (WTO) said Wednesday.
The last rise of Trump government tariffs to Chinese imports has increased the fears of a new commercial war between the United States and China, the two greatest economies in the world.
China’s revised request occurs after Tuesday an additional 10% tariff on Chinese products, which adds to the 10% tariff imposed by US President Donald Trump, on February 4.

Disputes before the WTO
Bilateral consultations are the first stage of the formal dispute resolution. If within 60 days a solution is not found, China could request the award from the Organ of Difference Solution of the Organization with the headquarters in Geneva.
Canada also requested WTO consultations with the United States on “unjustified tariffs.”
The new 25% Trump tariffs on the imports of Canada and Mexico entered into force on Tuesday, along with new tariffs on Chinese products.
The measures, which could alter the annual trade of almost 2.2 billion dollars, occurred after Trump declared that the three world commercial partners had not done enough to curb the Fentanyl flow and its chemical precursors to the United States.
