Beijing.- The Bags of Continental and Hong Kong opened on Tuesday with losses, in the day the additional tariffs of Chinese products imposed by President Donald Trump come into force.
The Shanghai and Shenzhen squares began the session losing 0.5% and 0.85%, respectively.
For its part, the reference index of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the Hang Seng, lost 1.43% to the opening.
The tariffs of 20% advanced by the United States on Chinese exports, which were initially going to be 10%, will finally be the double, as Trump announced at the end of last week, who justified the decision in which in his opinion China does not do enough to avoid the entry of fentanyl in the US.
China, which among other terms, has described the Washington movement as “blackmail”, has not yet responded with measures to this last batch of tariffs, but to the first, which reacted by taxing between 10% and 15% certain US products, in addition to establishing new controls to key mineral exports and opening an investigation against the American technological giant Google.

Now, the reprisals of the Asian giant could point to the agricultural and food exports of the US, according to the Global Times newspaper.
The tariffs enter into force one day before the annual meeting of the Legislative starts in Beijing, which, together with that of the advisory, which begins this Tuesday, mark the main political appointment of each year in the Asian country, known as the ‘two sessions’.
This Wednesday, during the inaugural session of the Legislative, it is expected that the Chinese authorities will announce the objective of economic growth by 2025, which is expected to be again “about 5%”, as in the last two years.
In his first presidency (2017-2021), Trump has already maintained a tense relationship with Beijing by imposing several rounds of tariffs worth 370,000 million dollars annually (about 352,800 million euros), to which China responded with taxes to US exports.
