He explained that initially the Expenditure Budget project contemplated cuts in education; However, with approved extensions, educational spending is 0.4% higher than what approved by 2024.
But although extensions to higher education, postgraduate and culture were assigned, reallocations and cuts are presented in higher secondary education and the gaps in educational coverage underline the need to articulate the expense between programs to guarantee an equitable, inclusive and quality investment that reduces inequalities and ensure continuity in educational trajectories.
The CIEP added in the fact that despite the increase in resources for cultural services and heritage, the challenge of consolidating an inclusive offer and promoting innovative solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations persists and assured that investing in culture is key to reduce inequalities and promote sustainable development.
