The Colorado Capitol withdrew from its walls a portrait of the US President, Donald Trump, after yesterday the Republican leader complained on social networks of the same, stating that this was “disfigured on purpose.”

As you can see in the images, the place where this painting was located, on a plaque in which “Donald Trump is read. 45 and 47 president of the United States”, is now empty.

“If the Republican party wants to spend time and money on which portrait of Trump hangs in the Capitol, that is his thing,” said the State Democratic legislators in a statement collected today by US media.

It is unknown what will happen now with painting or if it will be exhibited somewhere else.

The president blamed the governor of Colorado yesterday, the Democrat Jared Polis, of being behind this pictorial portrait of his hanging in the state legislative who considers that he has been “disfigured on purpose.”

“No one likes a bad photo or painting of himself, but that of Colorado, in the state capitol, placed by the governor, along with all the other presidents, was disfigured on purpose to a point that perhaps not even I have seen before,” Trump wrote in a publication in his social truth network, in which he attached a photo of the picture in question, the work of the local portraitist Sarah Broadman.

Trump complained that Broadman also painted President Barack Obama, who “looks wonderful, but mine is really the worst”: “He must have lost his talent with age,” he added.

Despite the words of the Republican, it was his own party that initiated a campaign in 2018 to raise thousands of dollars to paint the portrait, which was presented and hung in the Capitol in Denver the following year in a bipartisan act.
