Alejandro Malagón Barragán, president of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin), said there is concern in the Mexican industry for the collection of tariffs ordered by President Donald Trump.

“I think we must be with a joint strategy and yes (we are) very concerned about what can come, because in the center of the industry are the workers,” said the businessman at the end of the inauguration of the XXXIX International Exhibition of the Carnica Industry and Dairy.

“Currently, today the process already planned is lived and today we have a decision that the Government of Mexico is in an impasse from here to Sunday,” he said.

The entrepreneurs must have a cold mind and “from the concamin we support 100 percent what is being the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” he added.

“For us today the most important thing is how we are taking care of employment, but we trust that with dialogues that you have and the work from the government of Claudia Sheinbaum,” he said.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Economy has the buttons prepared to defend the interests of the Mexican economy.

“The buttons are in the hands of the authorities and on Sunday we will see them and we will have an answer from the president of the Republic,” he added.

“We are going to wait to not speculate” about the years that can cause tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, said Malagón Barragán.

“We trust what the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum is doing,” he said.
