The Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin) celebrated the 12% increase in the minimum wage, since it improves purchasing power and charts the route for a more fair and equitable country.

“We industrialists are convinced that improving the purchasing power of workers and enabling them to achieve greater family well-being is the correct path to having a more just and equitable society,” stated the organization directed by Alejandro Malagón Barragán.

“We are convinced that only through agreements and dialogue will we have a Mexico with greater opportunities, better development, with public policies that encourage investments and productivity, but above all, increase the levels of labor formality in Mexico,” the organization stated. industrial.

It also held tripartite dialogue within the National Minimum Wage Commission (Conasami) between representatives of workers, the Government and business organizations.

Under the agreement between workers, employers and the government, minimum wages were agreed for 2025.

The general minimum wage in the General Zone will increase from 248.93 pesos to 278.80 pesos per day. This increase is made up of an increase in the Independent Recovery Amount of 12.85 pesos plus an increase of 6.5%.

The minimum wage in the Northern Border Free Zone will increase from 374.89 pesos to 419.88 pesos per day. This increase is made up of an increase in the Independent Recovery Amount of 19.36 pesos plus an increase of 6.5%.

According to Concamin, the 6.5% increase for both areas of the country is what will serve as the basis or guidance for the salary reviews of the Collective Labor Contracts in 2025.

The general 12% increase will also be applied to the table of Minimum Professional Salaries, he added.

“In addition to the economic benefit that this increase represents, we highlight the positive impact it will have on the morale of workers, strengthening motivation and commitment in the work environment,” he said.

Concamin congratulated the National Minimum Wages Commission for this agreement, which demonstrates that consensus and co-responsibility are powerful tools to promote development.

“The country’s industrialists, with this agreement, make clear their commitment to continue supporting the income of working people to meet the proposed six-year goal,” he noted.
