EFE.- A Republican congressman introduced a bill this week to rename Dulles International Airport, on the outskirts of Washington, after the new president of the United States, Donald Trump.
The initiative was introduced by North Carolina Congressman Addison McDowell with the support of his Republican colleagues Guy Reschanthaler (Pennsylvania), Brian Jack (Georgia), Riley Morre (Virginia) and Brandon Gill (Texas).
The text proposes renaming the current Dulles International Airport as “Donald J. Trump International Airport” in any official United States documents, maps and records.
The bill is similar to another that was presented during the previous Congressional term, before Trump won the presidential elections on November 5, but never prospered.
Dulles International Airport is named after John Foster Dulles, who was Secretary of State under Dwight Eisenhower (1953-1961).
That airport, located in Virginia, provides coverage to the US capital, which also has the Ronald Reagan National Airport, mainly for domestic flights.
