The Patronal Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) asked the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum to stop and attend the disappeared crisis registered in Mexico.

“We require coordinated strategies, exhaustive investigations and concrete actions to eradicate forced disappearance in Mexico, because speeches or promises are not enough: tangible results are needed,” said the body led by Juan José Sierra Álvarez.

The three levels of government must assume their responsibility to stop the disappeared crisis in Mexico, he said.

“We consider that the families of the victims continue to face indifference and institutional inefficiency, while impunity allows these illicit to continue to occur,” said the employer union.

The business agency said that Mexican society cannot allow forced disappearance to become a normalized tragedy.

“We sympathize with the search groups and with each mother, father and family who struggles to know the truth and obtain justice,” he said.

The effort and courage of seekers have supplied, on many occasions, the omission of the authorities, he recalled.

“It is unacceptable for citizens to discover evidence that should have been identified by the investigation instances,” he said.

“The creation of more effective search mechanisms, the strengthening of the prosecutors and the real autonomy of the commissions in charge of the issue are urgent and unapolable measures. From Coparmex, we have insisted on the urgency of guaranteeing security, justice and peace in the country,” he said.

“Violence and impunity not only undermine people’s dignity; they also affect social stability and economic development. A country where thousands of families live with the uncertainty of not knowing where their loved ones are cannot aspire to a future of prosperity and well -being,” he added.

The business agency demanded the powers of the Union and the authorities that assume their responsibility.

“They must allocate greater resources to the dependencies responsible for the security and procurement of justice, which are strengthened by public policies that attend forced disappearance and legislate throughout Mexico so that security and peace are a reality in our country,” he said.

He affirmed that it is not acceptable that the lack of budget remains an excuse for inaction.

“Investing in the resolution of this problem is not an option, it is an obligation. Society demands results, and we will be attentive to the effectiveness of the measures announced to ensure that they are not in simple statements,” he said.
