The Southern District of New York court published several text messages between Blake Lively and pop superstar Taylor Swift in which they discuss the open legal dispute between the actress and Justin Baldoni, her co-star in the film ‘It Ends With Us’.
In one of the declassified documents, Lively asked Swift if everything is okay between them and claimed to feel like “a bad friend” for being “a sad sack who only talks about her own shit.”
“I think I’m exhausted in every aspect of my life, and in the last few months I’ve felt a change in the way you talk to me. Yes, there’s been a lot of things about Justin (Baldoni), but I’ve been through things like this before and I know how exhausting it is,” Swift then responded.
The singer added that reading Lively’s messages was like reading “a corporate email sent to 200 employees”: “I miss my fun friend who speaks to me as herself, not as a group (…). I feel distanced from you.”
In another exchange of messages dated December 2024, Swift sent Lively a story from People magazine that stated that Baldoni had confessed to having been “sexually traumatized” by an ex-partner.

Along with the image, the 36-year-old artist writes: “I think this idiot knows that something is coming, because he already took out his mini violin.” Swift sent this text before The New York Times revealed Lively’s accusations against Baldoni.
Weeks later, Swift shared with the actress a link to a news story that revealed that Baldoni’s management agency had fired him: “You won. You’ve done it. And you’ve helped so many people don’t have to go through this anymore. Never has a cancellation been reversed so quickly,” the artist wrote.
Last September, Swift agreed to testify in preparation for the legal battle between Lively and Baldoni, a process that is expected to go to trial in New York next May.
Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for sexual harassment during the filming of ‘It Ends With Us’ and for later attacking her with a smear campaign when she made her accusations public.
