Former soccer player Cuauhtémoc Blanco was accused of attempted rape by his half-sister, the local press reported this Friday.

According to reports, the complaint was presented last week to the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office, an entity that Blanco governed from 2018 until this year.

The former forward, who played with the Mexican National Team in the 1998, 2002 and 2010 World Cups, is a federal representative for Morena.

At the moment Cuauhtémoc Blanco has not commented on the complaint.

It is not the first time that the former América player has been accused of committing a crime. During his term as governor, opponents denounced him for nepotism, and among the names of relatives who would have benefited from positions is Fabiola ‘N’, his half-sister.

In addition, Cuauhtémoc Blanco received complaints before the Morelos Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office for alleged acts of corruption when he was governor, and former officials from his administration have suggested that he had ties to organized crime.

Cuauhtémoc Blanco left soccer in 2015. He played 120 games with the Mexican National Team in which he scored 39 goals. He also had a brief spell at Real Valladolid.
