The Confederation of Associations of Customs Agents of the Mexican Republic (CAAAREM) assured that its members are not promoting illegal practices, which is why it supports the strategy of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s government against the bad players who have promoted smuggling, a false statement , misclassification and undervaluation.

“All our accounts are supervised by the SAT, and ANAM has a record of our trusted personnel,” he stated.

“It is the importers who are responsible for returning those goods that enter temporarily under a promotion program, the Ministry of Economy for granting it, the SAT for regulating it and monitoring their return on time, and the ANAM for reviewing the import and export process.” , he stated.

The CAAAREM supported the government’s actions against illegality and bad practices.

“Today, customs agents are allies of the national industry, of importers and exporters who comply with the law. We will always cooperate with the private sector and the authorities to improve controls that prevent these illicit behaviors,” he said.

“There are opportunists from the economic sectors who are always trying to circumvent the laws, the authorities and the customs agents themselves, and there are issues of both information and commercial practices that are far from the reach of the customs agent,” he added.
