Iñaki Zaragoza, president of the Confederation of Customs Agents Associations of the Mexican Republic (CAAAREM), stated that the sector has the technical capacity to guarantee that imports and exports of merchandise are carried out in accordance with the law and not due to smuggling.
“We are the first line of defense in the country’s customs and we have the technical and operational capacity to guarantee that the goods that enter and leave do so in accordance with the law,” said the businessman.
Zaragoza participated in the launch of Impulsaa México, an initiative to strengthen the competitiveness of foreign trade.

He declared that customs work requires constant preparation, rigorous regulatory compliance and a foolproof ethical exercise, since Mexico is the tenth largest exporting economy and the thirteenth largest in imports.
“Today we are here because we recognize the transcendental moment in which Mexico finds itself,” he comments to officials and businessmen gathered in the Executive Tower of the Ministry of Economy (SE).
“At CAAAREM we promote the modernization of the Code of Ethics, specialized training programs and internal control mechanisms that guarantee the traceability, veracity and legality of each customs operation,” he said.
He explained that the plan announced today is a commitment by customs agents to train talent, strengthen alliances, innovate, guarantee transparency and transform the logistics operation.
