Over time, even more functionality has been added to Cyberpunk 2077 through fan-led modding efforts. But sometimes, fans add incredibly ambitious zones and even features like multiplayer.

While Night City was a fun setting, it would have been nice to be able to explore more of the surrounding area. Thanks to this creation on Nexus Mods, you can.

Outdoor V Adds A Canyon Forest To 2077

It’s A Cool Idea

If you’ve ever wanted to explore more of the world of Cyberpunk 2077 beyond the intro, you can download Outdoor V right now. A simple reference to the protagonist V relaxing in the wilderness, this mod does exactly what it says on the tin.

Here’s a quick overview from the mod’s creator: “Adds an extensive forest by the end of the Eastern Badlands canyon, can be toggled off in game. Compatibility with Night City Flooded to have a small lake in the middle of it. That’s it, go and touch some grass.”

In short, you’ll be able to explore the canyon of the Easter Badlands, which also has a forest. The mod includes the ability to camp and rest, and take a break from the bustle of Night City. You can also pick up the mod “Forest Canyon Campsite Worldbuilder” if you want to build out a camp in the new area.

There are some provisos, however, to be aware of if you’re getting into the mod: “Grass decals will imprint on props, these can be disabled in your mod options. A few areas don’t have any grass by default as well, including near the shores of the lake. NO collisions. This build is, a visual one rather than being gameplay involved. On the upside, it makes driveability much nicer.”

While not a fully-fledged campaign area, it’s mainly meant to be a place of relaxation. Roleplayers and folks who are interested in seeing the great outdoors in this engine will want to try it out. Given how detached it is from the main game, it’s the perfect kind of optional mod, too.

What Will The Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Bring?

Maybe More Areas Like This

While CD Projekt Red is hard at work on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, all eyes are on what they’re going to do next. Night City is an iconic location, and we could see a new locale and a completely different setup this time, possibly set in a new year/era. Conversely, the sequel could take place in a changed Night City, complete with Easter eggs and references to the original cast.

Whatever the studio decides, they’ll need to make sure it runs on every platform so they don’t have to repeat the Cyberpunk 2077 launch. If it had launched in a more stable state with the Phantom Liberty level of polish, the launch would have been different.
