A developer bought one of Dallas’ most expensive homes.

Centurion American founder Mehrdad Moayedi bought the estate at 10331 Strait Lane through an LLC last month, according to county records. After failing to sell for $17.9 million last year, the home listed for $15.9 million this spring — earning a spot among the top 10 most expensive new listings in Texas in April, according to the Houston Association of Realtors.

The sale price was not disclosed.

The Tudor-style estate is on a 2-acre lot with its own subdivision, Polka Park, in Preston Hollow. Steven Ross, the Grand Prairie plastics titan who founded the parent company of Husky, platted the subdivision in 2007 and conveyed the property in 2008 to his daughter, Rachel Polka, the seller.

Construction and marketing have also been a family affair. Homebuilder Barry Buford built the home in 2007, and his wife Lucinda, an agent at Allie Beth Allman and Associates, had the listing.

Along with the six-bedroom, 18,000-square-foot home, the property includes a pool, a tennis court, a batting cage and an indoor basketball court.

In addition to Centurion American’s prolific single-family community operations, Moayedi also develops luxury homes in Dallas. His custom luxury company, Crescent Estates Custom Homes, is filling the Turtle Creek condo Residences at Routh this year. Crescent is also selling the Crespi Estates, a development of single-family spec mansions parceled from the landmark Crespi Estate manor in Preston Hollow.

Moayedi plans to remodel the Strait Lane property rather than redevelop it, according to a company spokesperson.

It’s common to see listings boast of being on the most prestigious street in town, but Strait Lane has a fair claim to the title. Ross Perot Sr. lived there, and billionaire Toby Neugebauer, S2 Capital founder Scott Everett and Panda Biotech CEO Bob Carter still do.
