One of Dallas’ most storied hotels is getting a new lease on luxury.
The Stoneleigh, an Uptown landmark since 1923, is set to reopen next spring following a multimillion-dollar renovation that will rebrand it from Le Méridien to Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The 11-story, 103-year-old property at 2927 Maple Avenue — long dubbed “The Grand Dame of Uptown” — will join a curated portfolio of more than 330 independent hotels known for distinctive design and local character.
Other North Texas members of the Autograph Collection include Hotel Drover and The Sinclair in Fort Worth and the soon-to-open HALL Park Hotel in Frisco.
Brookfield Real Estate Group, which owns the property, tapped James Beard Award-winning chef Michael White to lead a culinary program.
The overhaul, led by boutique design studio Fettle, will fuse old Hollywood glamour with contemporary maximalism, drawing inspiration from midcentury design icon Dorothy Draper, Local Profile reported. Cinematic interiors will nod to The Stoneleigh’s Jazz Age origins.
Plans also call for a reimagined pool and terrace, a new fitness center, and programming aimed at reviving the hotel’s role as a cultural hub with live music, curated events and culinary pop-ups.
The only cost estimate available for the overhaul is $2.725 million according to a permit filed with the state in May, but those fillings are often estimates, preliminary in nature and subject to change. The filing only lists the basement and level one public spaces for renovation with a completion date at the end of November of this year, meaning more filings and cost estimates are to follow.
Opening just a decade after The Adolphus, The Stoneleigh is Dallas’ second-oldest hotel and a cornerstone of Uptown’s architectural and social history. Its revival marks another chapter in a broader wave of luxury repositioning across Dallas’ hospitality market, where legacy properties are being retooled for design-savvy guests seeking local character over corporate polish.
