The Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, number 2 of the world and brand new champion of the 1,000 Masters from Rome, where he beat the Italian Jannik Sinner (7-6 (5) and 6-1), dedicated his first trophy in the Roman beaten earth to his team.
In the stands of the central track of the Italic Forum, in addition to his family and the president of the Spanish Tennis Federation, Miguel Díaz Román, were his three people of greatest confidence: his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero; his agent, Albert Molina; and his physio, Juanjo Moreno.
“I would like to thank my team and family. We came from an injury. It was very difficult. We came to see how the injury was and we have won. This trophy is much more your than mine, without your work it would not be possible,” he said on the central track of the Italic forum, in the awards ceremony.

He also had beautiful words for Sinner, who said shortly before he was the “rival to beat in Paris and the strongest player on whipped land.”
“You’ve been out 3 months and I can’t imagine how it has been hard for you, for your family and your team. And come back here in Rome and do it like that, reaching the final … I have to congratulate you, it has been incredible. I will not get tired of saying how good person you are, the great worker you are with your great team,” he said.
He also thanked the tournament for his good organization and the Italian public for his respect: “This tournament is beautiful. Thank you for the organization for making us feel at home. Also Italian people. I’m sorry, I know you wanted you to win Sinner. But thank you very much for your respect for me. And your support against non -Italians has been incredible. Congratulations to the country for the great moment he lives in tennis. We see you next year.”
