The Democratic Party accused the president of the country, Donald Trump, of “betraying” Americans with budget proposals that benefit rich and include cuts to important programs that will be “devastating” for communities of scarce resources and usurply usurpate the legislative process.

Congressman Adriano Espaillat, president of the Hispanic Caucus and chosen by his party (Democrat) to respond in Spanish to the message that Trump will offer today before a special session of the Congress, warned that these cuts to the budget “will leave somewhere.”

The Democrats say they will mean the decrease of “very important programs for the population such as the one I represent, such as Medicaid and Food Assistance for low -income and Medicare (for the elderly), among others,” he said.

“While a kind of soap opera is being given between Elon Musk, the Secretary of State (Marco Rubio) and Trump himself who is absorbing a lot of time, there are budgetary proposals that are devastating for our community,” said Espaillat, the first Dominican elected to Congress.

He cited as an example the community that represents – District 13 of New York that includes the Alto Manhattan and sectors of El Bronx – where 524,000 people, of a total 780,000, are users of the Medicalid Health Program and 108,000 are from Medicare. To them are added more than 200,000 homes that receive food coupons.

“Those cuts to a district like the one I represent can dramatically affect,” he said, in an advance of what Americans will hear tonight of the Democratic Party after Trump’s message.

“Private medical insurance are very expensive and that is why that plan is disastrous,” he insisted.

Democratic party also accuses Trump of ‘totally evading’ to Congress

The budget proposal was approved last Tuesday in the House of Representatives, under the control of the Republicans, which includes mass tax cuts and expenses to comply with the Agenda of President Trump.

Specifically, the plan foresees a 4.5 billion cuts in taxes and 2 billion in budgetary expenses, what Espaillat considers “problematic.” The proposal continues its legislative process in the Senate, also under republican control.

There is great expectation about the first message of the second mandate that Trump will offer this Tuesday, which is expected to talk about what will define his work agenda.

The Democratic party also accuses Trump of “totally evading” Congress with executive orders through which he is imposing his government agenda.

“This administration is not like the previous presidencies, including that of Trump himself,” he said, remembering that the legislative process is what gives power to citizens, who choose politicians to be their voice, he said.

“If the president is going to evade the legislative process to govern by executive orders, that is a serious governance problem,” he said.

He stressed that, of the 76 executive orders issued, 20% have been denounced in court. “If you really used Musk to be an referee who saves money, they have started badly.”

The Democrats have lashed out at Trump, not only for “betraying” Americans with a budget “who takes the majority to fill the pocket of a few” but also those who supported him looking for a solution to the high cost of life and for their anti -immigrant policy that have caused a very negative impact on small businesses because people have stopped going out. “They are afraid,” he concluded.
