After a successful debut of his exhibition “Frequency” in Los Angeles, the artist and furniture designer Sami Hayek opens the doors to a new chapter of the same, now in Dubai during Design Week 2024 where he will present twenty unique pieces.
“Frequency” focuses on delving into how objects contain and radiate intentions, this concept being the one that Hayek most often applies in his works by focusing on the creation of original objects of exquisite design that invite reflection, which include furniture, sculptures and art installations that evoke feelings.
The works are mainly manufactured with materials such as volcanic rock, marble, anodized aluminum, glass beads and precious woods to create objects using both the precision of machines and artisanal skills, so a single piece can take hundreds of hours.

“Everything around us has a frequency and each color has its particular resonance, and both impact us sensorially. “All my pieces have been selected not only with frequencies, but also with sacred geometry,” the artist stated about the inspiration surrounding “Frequency.”
The artist’s design process also explores the interactions that certain materials have with each other and how those same combined “frequencies” of each object coexist together, which makes each of his creations have a unique aesthetic, in addition to managing to involve his roots. Mexican.
“Dubai is a center of artistic talent in the Middle East and one that showcases the best of contemporary design and creativity,” Hayek says of what the opening of his exhibition in that country represents.
The exhibition will take place at Christie’s Private Sales, taking place in the Middle East from November 4 to 14 and will consist of interactive artworks designed for viewers to touch, inviting them to interact with the pieces in a tactile and immersive way. .
