Actor Leonardo DiCaprio premieres in Mexico his latest film ‘One battle after another’, a critical and “revolutionary” satire towards the recent migratory policies of the United States promoted by President Donald Trump, although according to the interpreter, this thriller that portrays the US army and the most conservative sectors of the country does not include a “political agenda”.
“There is no political agenda in the film, but it does speak of a confusing and extreme world in which these characters are found (…) What I like most is the revolutionary that is the character and his responsibility that he has as a father, which is not traditional,” replied the 50 -year -old actor who plays the protagonist Bob Ferguson, a retired radical revolutionary.
DiCaprio appeared against his Latin American fans, who fought to achieve a photo by his side or a gesture of closeness, with a dark and simple clothing, unlike the label suit that usually wear their most acclaimed roles in ‘The Great Gatsby’ (2013) or ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ (2013).
“I practiced Spanish and I live in a Mexican community such as Los Angeles. In the filming we had great communication and we were surrounded by real people,” DiCaprio explained, looking at his cast partner, Puerto Rican Benicio del Toro, with whom he shares a dialogue in Spanish during the footage.
The tape is the adaptation of Thomas Pynchon ‘Vineland’ (1990), a story about the radical groups that in the 70s defended the rights of African Americans and migrants, and that in the current adaptation, portrays the agents of the United States Immigration and Customs Control Service (ICE, in English), which has deported more than 200 thousand people from which Trump’s mandate began last January.
Bob Ferguson (DiCaprio) is a revolutionary artifier who after having a daughter (Chase Infiniti) decides to abandon his fight. Years later, their enemies of the past will seek revenge that, both the State and the high spheres of the country, wish against it and its ex -group of revolutionaries, who in the current context would be considered as terrorists.

Cooperation and love to move forward
The 55 -year -old director’s film, Paul Thomas Anderson, one of the greatest exponents of North American cinema of his generation with ‘Boogie Nights’ (1997) or Magnolia (1999), is according to himself an “optimistic film about cooperation” and “how people communicate” currently.
Another of the great production issues, which is estimated to have cost about 140 million dollars, is the paternity that DiCaprio represents with his fictitious daughter performed by Chase Infiniti, considered the revelation talent of this production after his debut in Hollywood.
This variety of characters and actors, among which are also the Oscarized Sean Penn (Mystic River) or Regina Hall (Scary Movie), is what, according to Benicio del Toro, differentiates the production of others.
“They are different characters, and a different and incredible story. Paul, Leo and I got together and we all work in the arc of history. This is how it is built and made (…) this roller coaster of human heat in which, after all, love expires and triumphs,” said the 58 -year -old artist.
‘One battle after another’ premieres on September 25 internationally in Salas, after a tense year in political and cinematographic terms.
