The film ‘Digger’, the new film by American actor Tom Cruise and Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, will premiere on the big screen in October 2026.

This Thursday, Cruise shared a preview of the film on social media, described as “a comedy of catastrophic proportions” and in which he appears holding a shovel.

The film, which was shot in the United Kingdom over six months, marks Iñárritu’s first English-language film since ‘Revenant: The Revenant,’ which earned its star, Leonardo DiCaprio, his first Oscar for best actor in 2016.

Produced and directed by Iñárritu, little is known about the plot of this film, in which the American actor plays Digger Rockwell, a powerful man who “embarks on a frantic mission to prove that he is the savior of humanity before the disaster he has unleashed destroys everything,” according to the synopsis shared by Warner Bros.

The cast also includes Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde and Emma D’Arcy.

‘Digger’ is the first project since the ‘Mission: Impossible’ actor signed a deal to develop feature films with Warner Bros. Discovery.
