Isidro Pastor, general director of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), said that the movement and cargo services have fallen through Donald Trump’s tariff policy, as has happened in the rest of the world.
“I would invite you not to focus (on the fall in cargo handling) on AIFA, since this is a phenomenon that happens in all airports,” he said in the framework of the ACI Airport Day Mexico.

The entrepreneurs dedicated to the transport of merchandise took precautions to the tariffs of Donald Trump, which caused a decline in foreign trade operations, he said.
Isidro Pastor said that the fall in AIFA foreign trade operations are due to external factors, but “be sure that it has been recovering, that is, the rest of the year will be recovered.”
From January to May, AIFA had a 16.9 percent drop in total load management, being the largest between air terminals and airport groups, according to the Federal Civil Aviation Agency.

Also airports operated by Airport Group of Mexico City mobilized 17.8 percent more load in the first five months of 2025. Both companies are controlled by the Secretariat of the Navy.

AIFA will continue to maintain the leadership of foreign trade operations and the transport of goods from outside, inside and outside Mexico, said Isidro Pastor.
“We remain first in Mexico in the transfer of loading of the 80 Mexican airports and the number four of the 360 airports in Latin America,” he said.
