The director of the Board of Roads of the State of Mexico (JCEM), Mario Ariel Juárez Rodríguez, faces accusations for alleged nepotism, corruption and illicit enrichment, according to a note by El Financiero.
The media reported that an investigation of the internal control body showed that up to 1,000 million pesos of the budget allocated to bump and maintenance would have been awarded to companies without visible infrastructure, under direct award schemes or restricted tenders.
The companies benefited from the contracts present coincidences in their legal representatives or in their tax addresses, which raises suspicions of a possible simulation.
In addition, Mario Ariel Juárez Rodríguez has been pointed out to name people of his intimate circle in key positions, including María Teresa Ruiz Pérez, her partner, as deputy director of Administration, and her brother -in -law, Walter Ruiz Pérez, as legal responsible. Both would have control of priority areas to authorize payments, human resources and contracts.

According to El Financiero, Mario Ariel Juárez has also been seen in GMC and Ford Lobo Raptor trucks, valued in more than 2 million pesos, and has been linked to the recent acquisition of a Porsche, but none of those vehicles are recorded in their patrimonial statement, whose access has been restricted by the National Transparency Platform.
