The British singer Dua Lipa transformed immersive music experiences this Monday by fusing her artistic image with the taco, the most recognized Mexican dish worldwide, within the framework of what will be the closing of her ‘Radical Optimism Tour 2025’ tour in Mexico City.

Hours before her inaugural concert in the Mexican capital on December 1, the ‘Levitating’ singer invited her thousands of followers in the country to the ‘Taquería Dua’, a provisional establishment that will be open until the 5th of this month, when the three concerts that the Londoner will offer at the ‘GNP Seguros Stadium’ conclude.

Between long lines, taquero hats, spicy sauces and the image of the three-time Grammy winner printed on large cardboard, fans of all ages and from different parts of the country came to try the three flavors—cheese, chicharrón and arrachera—served in a flour tortilla.

“(Dua Lipa) always likes to be in contact with us. We see him in his concerts that he sings a song from each representative country, so he wanted to represent Mexico,” Mariana, 22, who traveled from Veracruz (east) to try this dish, which she rated with a ten, told EFE.

The ‘La Dua’ package, tasted by Mariana, costs 249 Mexican pesos (about $13.62), and each taco is named after songs that are part of the tour, for example, ‘Houdini’ or ‘María’.

“She feels comfortable with Mexicans,” said the follower after remembering that the artist is a fan of national food, but also of its culture, after yesterday she was seen dancing salsa and cumbia in a club in Mexico City with her partner, actor Callum Turner.

People like Deni, 34, got up at 4:00 in the morning to travel from Guerrero (southeast) and try the tacos from the creator of ‘Be the One’, but above all to attend the concert she will offer tonight, in addition to the presentations scheduled for December 2 and 5.

“It’s super cool (good), because maybe you haven’t had breakfast and tacos always go hand in hand before a concert,” he said.

And, for her followers, this gesture is another example of the “closeness” that Dua Lipa maintains with the Mexican community and with the rest of her audience, which exceeds 62 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

“This tour has been incredible, and I love that she comes down and interacts with her fans during the concerts,” said Jerson, originally from the State of Mexico, who bought a ticket in the front row to see the artist who began to shine in the music industry with her first single, ‘New Love’ (2015).

The activation to attend the ‘Taquería Dua’ sold out its reservations a few hours after its opening, and expects the visit of between 4,000 and 5,000 people until December 5, the day on which one of the most important tours in the career of the 30-year-old composer ends.
