América Móvil reported that its profits increased 39% annually in the first quarter to 18,703 million pesos, which attributed to the operating benefit and a decrease in financial costs.

The total revenues of America Mobile, the jewel of the Business Empire Carlos Slim, added 232,038 million pesos in the period, 14% more than those reported between January and March 2024, and barely below the average LSE forecast of 233.3 billion pesos.

América Móvil said that their profits before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 13% to 91 billion pesos.

The company added 2.4 million postpaago net customers in the quarter, driven by growth in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

1 million disconnections were recorded in the prepaid segment due to the falls in Mexico and Brazil, according to América Móvil.

The company’s executives said in February that they were monitoring prepaid customers in Mexico for concerns of a deceleration in the national economy.
