Mexico City, (EFE) .- The Government delivered the distinctive ‘made in Mexico’ to the Mobility Ado transport company, recognizing it as a fundamental piece to detonate mobility between the country’s development poles, strengthen the internal economy and consolidate the country as a global reference for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The ceremony, headed by the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, took place at the East passenger bus terminal (Tapo) of the Mexican capital, from where it was announced that ADO will be a strategic ally in the implementation of the so -called Mexico Plan, focused on connecting industrial regions, boosting electromovility and promoting national products.

Ebrard explained that the company will also help disseminate the ‘Made in Mexico’ program and that it will participate in the connectivity between regions that will be driven by government support such as incentives and other competitive measures, called development poles.

In this regard, he said that the effort of passenger transport companies, such as Ado, could influence improving connectivity in the new development poles raised by President Claudia Sheinbaum, from Hermosillo, Sonora, to Chetumal, in Quintana Roo.

“The second is to be ready in the 2026 World Cup. Because linked to ‘Made in Mexico’ many other campaigns come to position our country with respect to that huge international event. That is, we will be on the world catwalk and the emblem will be ‘made in Mexico,’ he added.

Ebrard explained that this certificate only has 1,000 companies in the country and admitted that Ado deserves it by highlighting its innovation, efficiency and social commitment.

“This bus does not go and you buy it in a vehicle agency store. It was specially designed to give the best possible service to people who take this bus,” said the official.

He also emphasized that the company travels more than 1,000 million kilometers per year, transporting more than 520 million passengers.

As part of the government plan, I will collaborate with other Mexican firms such as MegaFlux and industrial power to test electric engines manufactured in Iztapalapa, with a view to reducing technological imports.

“Our vision of urban mobility argues that collective public transport is the solution of problems that have cities and metropolitan areas in Mexico. The challenges are large, but we trust that public or private collaboration is key to face them,” said Pérez.

The recognition was also held by authorities of Mexico City and the State of Mexico, who underlined the role of public transport as a lever to combat structural inequality and promote social justice.

“Talking about what is done in Mexico is talking about talent, work (…) but it is also talking about technological sovereignty, productive infrastructure and especially mobility (…) is not only a stamp that distinguishes a product. It is an effort to bet on a development that crosses all sectors,” said Daniel Sibaja, secretary of mobility.
