The Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, assured that the National Development Plan 2025-2030 will be the country’s navigation chart and reiterated that in the face of the tariff threats of the president-elect of the United States, Donald, Trump, he will wait to see what a once he assumes the presidency.

“To think that our National Plan is the navigation chart that we are going to follow in the coming years, this government, that we are also going to be in a new scenario, in a different scenario at a global level, at a world level,” he said within the framework of the Forum “Moral Economy and Work” in Aguascalientes.

“We want to achieve a series of objectives in our country, but also take into account what is happening outside to act with opportunity, with intelligence and overcome the circumstances that may arise in the coming years,” added the official.

He pointed out that the next United States administration is about to begin, but he is also observing what is happening in the European Union and in other strategic partners of Mexico, such as South Korea, “you see that there are different phenomena in all of them.”

“Mexico has its route, it has its objectives, we are going to have the National Plan and our navigation chart in time to move forward,” said Marcelo Ebrard.

Regarding the implications that Donald Trump’s policies could have, especially in the automotive sector, “a I would like not to get too much into speculation, but rather to see what President Trump is really going to consider starting January 20.

Therefore, the Secretary of Economy warned, the Mexico Plan seeks to reduce dependence on many of the strategic components of the automotive industry with respect to Asia, in general.

“What is important is also to see everything they (the companies) do, who makes the harnesses, the semiconductors, the electronic substantive part, the brakes, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Work with this entire conglomerate of companies to reduce the dependence we have on other regions. Because what we see is that our region has to produce more within the region,” he said.
