The National Soccer Team presented its new home shirt with which it will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and which will mark the third time that Mexico will host the greatest event in world soccer.
The launch took place in Mexico City, with the presence of Mikel Arriola, Commissioner of the Mexican Football Federation, Jorge Dionne, General Director of Adidas Mexico, Jurgen Mainka, Head of FIFA Mexico, Samuel García, Governor of Nuevo León, as well as authorities from the federal and state governments, FIFA representatives, ambassadors, former players, sponsors and the media.
The new uniform, according to the presenters, combines innovation, identity and feeling. It takes up the traditional green that has accompanied the National Team in its most memorable moments, and incorporates pre-Hispanic details that evoke our roots and reflect the strength of the country. In addition, at the top of the neck the phrase “WE ARE MÉXICO” stands out, which symbolizes the union between the fans and the players in this historic moment.
Mikel Arriola stressed the value of the World Cup at home for national soccer:
“The players Javier chooses will be privileged, they will play with the colors of the flag and the calendar stone. They will sing the National Anthem of Mexico with this shirt, and they will do so in front of one of the three largest fans in the world.”
The National Team will wear this new shirt for the first time on November 15 in the preparation match against Uruguay in Torreón, as part of the process towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
