Douglas Elliman announced its top dealmakers, spotlighting a mix of the usual suspects along with a few new names from an eventful year for the brokerage that saw a number of high-profile exits and pivots in its business.
The firm on Tuesday announced its annual Ellie award winners, including agents and teams who achieved the highest gross commission incomes, sales volumes and number of transactions last year.
Elliman CEO Michael Liebowitz wrote in a statement that he was “continually inspired by” the winners and other agents at the firm, which he described as “essential to achieving our bold vision for growth, innovation, and enduring success.”
The Eklund-Gomes Team, led by John Gomes and Fredrik Eklund, once again secured the No. 1 spot among the firm’s rainmakers, snagging the largest sales volume and GCI of the national enterprise teams. In last year’s awards, the team was followed by Noble Black & Partners, the founder of which left Elliman for Corcoran in September, along with 10 of its members.
The Altman Brothers Team, led by brothers Matt and Josh Altman and Josh’s wife, Heather, was the brokerage’s top-performing national mega team by GCI and sales volume. It was also the leading megateam in California by GCI, rental GCI and sales volume.
Both the Eklund-Gomes Team and the Altman Brothers Team joined the brokerage’s Billion Dollar Club, honoring agents and teams with annual sales exceeding $1 billion.
Also among the national top producers was the Sarkis Team, honored as the top large team by sales volume and GCI. The Boston-based team, led by brothers George and Manny Sarkis, was also the No. 1 large team in Massachusetts. The duo launched their own private listing network in December, amid an industry-wide debate over the role of aggregators and multiple listing services in advertising properties.
The firm also ranked Dina Goldentayer, a Miami-based broker, as the top individual agent by sales volume and GCI both nationally and in Florida.
In Manhattan, Ann Cutbill Lenane again topped the firm’s rankings in number of transactions and sales volume, and the Michael Lorber Team topped all large teams in transactions, sales volume and GCI. Lenane placed 22nd in The Real Deal’s latest ranking of the top resale agents in New York City with $77 million in sell-side deals, followed by Lorber’s team, with a volume of $76 million.
In Brooklyn, the brokerage honored Michael Gidaly as the top-performing agent by volume and GCI, while Robert Nicoletti had the most transactions. The Jessica Peters Team stole the top spot among large teams in the borough. In the previous edition of the Ellies, the Lindsey Barton Barrett team landed as the firm’s top small team, though this year, the award went to the Maroni Team. Barrett left Elliman to join Compass in January.
In the Hamptons, Erica Grossman was the top-performing agent by sales volume and GCI
Grossman, along with Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen, closed the No. 2 deal in the Hamptons when Shutterstock founder Jonathan Oringer sold his home at 125 Mid Ocean Drive for $57 million in October. Grossman and the Atlantic Team also closed the No. 3 deal, the $32 million sale of video game developer Matthew Karch’s estate at 33 Lily Pond Lane in September.
