The companies Ericsson and América Móvil reported on the signing of a memorandum of understanding to promote sustainability in the region in key areas such as the circular economy, the decarbonization of industries, energy efficiency and digital inclusion.

Within the framework of this agreement, Ericsson and América Móvil will join forces to identify and promote initiatives that are aligned with their sustainability strategies and objectives, in order to maximize their impact,” the companies reported in a statement.
Fabian Monge, president for Latin America North and the Caribbean at Ericsson, said, quoted in the statement, that this agreement marks a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable development in Latin America.

The companies detailed that the agreement contemplates the creation of mechanisms for the exchange of knowledge and good practices between the parties.

As part of this agreement, they said, on December 13, in the Digital Library of the National Biodiversity Pavilion of UNAM, and in collaboration with the Carlos Slim Foundation, both companies will join forces to implement a digital laboratory called “Digital Lab.” aimed at high school students.
“In this space, volunteers from Ericsson and Telcel (América Móvil) will teach a practical programming workshop focused on video game development,” they highlighted.
The firms reported that this initiative aims to inspire participating girls and boys to explore the world of technology and programming in a fun way, strengthening their digital skills and fostering their interest in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). , for its acronym in English).
