The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Thursday a “drastic restructuring” that will result in the suppression of 10,000 jobs.

Meanwhile, these personnel cuts are added to the approximately 10,000 employees who voluntarily chose to leave the department since President Donald Trump assumed the position.

According to HHS, this restructuring “will save taxpayers 1.8 billion dollars.”

Voluntary workers’ exits and the new restructuring plan implies the elimination of approximately a quarter of the department’s workforce, a total personnel reduction from 82,000 to 62,000 full -time employees.
