The United States government has confiscated more than 700 million dollars in assets to the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, whom he has accused of leading the Los Soles Cartel, that the Donald Trump administration declared last July as a terrorist organization.

The US attorney general, PAM Bondi, said Wednesday in an interview with the Fox chain the confiscation of millions of dollars in assets to Maduro.

“This is organized crime, it is not different from the mafia and the (alleged crimes) related to Maduro. The assets exceed 700 million dollars that we have already confiscated, but its terror regime continues,” said Bondi, which on August 7 announced the increase of 25 to 50 million dollars of the reward for information that leads to Maduro’s arrest.

Maduro was accused by the United States during Donald Trump’s first term, in 2020, of drug trafficking and terrorism. Specifically, Washington says that this group is led by Maduro and by high -ranking officials and military of the Venezuelan government.

Bondi explained in the interview that Maduro confiscated assets include two luxurious planes, several houses, a mansion in the Dominican Republic, several mansions in Florida, a horse farm, nine vehicles, millions of dollars in jewels and cash.

But he insisted that this organized crime organization “continues to work.”

The accusation that linked Maduro with drug trafficking was rejected by the Minister of Interior and Justice of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, who assured that the Soles poster is an “invention” of the United States.

Cabello and other officials close to Maduro have been accused by the US of different crimes.

Today, the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, requested the union of Latin American countries to what he considered “direct threats of military intervention” by the USA, after Trump defended to send troops against the drug cartels of the region with the aim of protecting his nation.

The United States recognizes the opponent Edmundo González Urrutia as an elected president of Venezuela of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PU).
