The Pokémon Company disconnected this Wednesday from a video of the United States National Security Department (DHS), in which the main song of the franchise and anime sequences were used to highlight the work of immigration agents.
The company said in a statement that it has been aware of the video shared by the DHS that includes images and language associated with the famous brand, which has caused claims among the followers of the important franchise in the US.
“Our company did not participate in the creation or distribution of this content, and permission was not granted for the use of our intellectual property,” said Pokemon.

The video, published in the DHS account on the X platform last Monday, shows a assembly of arrests made by migratory agents with the main song of Pokémon, which includes the phrase: Gotta Catch ‘Em All (you have to catch them all, in Spanish) and the figure of the main protagonist Ash Ketchum.
Until Wednesday the video had more than 70,000 visualizations and had generated great rejection by immigrant defenders.
The company did not say if it will undertake legal actions against the DHS or demand that the images and music related to anime be removed.
This is not the first time that the DHS uses the image of a brand or celebrity in its videos to promote mass deportations, this Wednesday, the American comedian Theo von, of Nicaraguan ancestry and close to President Donald Trump accused the agency to use his name without permission in a video.
“Dhs, I did not approve to be used in this. I know you know my address, so send a check. And please lower this and, please, leave me out of your ‘bombing’ deportation videos,” he wrote in X the ‘influencer’, with 8.5 million followers on Instagram and known for his podcast ‘This Past Weekend’.
