The United States warned Tuesday that Chinese intelligence was using deceptive methods to capture employees and former employees of the US government.
The warning of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center occurs in the midst of mass federal layoffs headed by the department of Elon Musk (Doge).
“Foreign Intelligence Entities, in particular those of China, have as a objective and previous employees of the United States government to recruit them by passing consulting companies, corporate cazatalent, reflection groups and other entities in social and professional media sites,” the center said in a bulletin.
The center pointed out that deceptive employment offers on the Internet and other methods have become more sophisticated to capture people with experience in the US government looking for a new job. He warned the current and former federal employees of such approaches.

He added that authorizations holders were obliged to protect classified data even after leaving federal employment.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that it was not aware of the situation and accused the United States of spying on China.
The Ministry spokesman, Lin Jian, described the actions of the United States as “irresponsible practices” and said he was carrying out a “global espionage without hiding it.”
