Warning! Spoilers for The Night Agent season 3 ahead!
The Night Agent always delivers with a high death toll, and season 3 is no exception. The Netflix series revolves around the most secret of international conspiracies, which means there’s reliably a character in each season that will do just about anything to keep their dirty deeds from being uncovered. Add in the titular Night Agents’ freedom to take out those they need to, and The Night Agent can pretty quickly get intense.
During this most recent batch of episodes, Peter Sutherland sets to work uncovering the twisted truths involving Jacob Monroe, Walcott Capital Bank, Raul Zapata, the LFS terrorist group, the President of the United States, and dozens more unseen forces. Naturally, this web of chaos made The Night Agent season 3 the most intense yet, as evidenced by all those fatalities.
The Passengers On Flight Pima 12
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 1
The event that kicks off The Night Agent season 3 is the attack on Flight Pima 12, which was full of US citizens. This act of terrorism is ultimately discovered to be the work of the LFS terrorist group, which was previously only a small organization until they and their arms dealer, Raul Zapata, began receiving large amounts of money from US companies, all handled by Walcott Capital Bank.
Mike Fonseca
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 2
Journalist Mike Fonseca, Isabel De Leon’s partner, got a bit too close to discovering the sorts of favors Walcott Capitol and its CEO, Freya Myers, were doing for their clients. So, a hitman known only as “The Father” in The Night Agent was hired to take him out, along with anyone else asking too many questions (including Isabel and Jay). Mike’s death was among the most tragic of these episodes. The Father slipped poison into his drink at the bar, but, to everyone else, it appeared as if Mike died from a more typical medical emergency.
Catherin Weaver
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 2
Catherine Weaver is another bitter character death in The Night Agent season 3. Back in season 2, Peter had a rather contentious relationship with this character. However, we see at the start of season 3 that they had since formed a close bond. Catherine was killed when Jacob Monroe’s decoy car detonated as she approached the vehicle with the plan to arrest the Broker. Naturally, Peter blamed himself.
Vernon Tyvek
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 3
Isabel and Mike had previously identified Vernon Tyvek as a former compliance officer who had signed off on the SARs documents that caused Jay so much trouble. The man refused to provide too much information, fully aware that revealing too much would put his life in danger. In the end, Tyvek’s restraint didn’t save him. He wound up assassinated by The Father, once again at the request of Freya Myers at Walcott Capitol.
Brian Mott
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 3
Brian Mott was the caterer at the White House in The Night Agent season 3, and, in episode 3, it’s believed that he attempted to attack the First Lady, Jenny Hagan, while brandishing a gun (leading to his death by Chelsea Arrington). However, when Chelsea realized that Mott hadn’t been armed as Jenny claimed, she began to investigate. We ultimately learn that Mott had been helping Jenny leak the daily presidential briefing to Jacob Monroe. When Jenny wanted to stop, Mott became aggressive, though not so much that he needed to be killed.
Senator Lansing
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 4
Peter and Isabel discovered that US Senator Lansing was among those who paid money into the “Heroes for Healing” charity, which was used to funnel funds to Zapata. This was all once again facilitated by Walcott Capital Bank. So, when Isabel started asking Lansing invasive questions, the Frather appeared to handle the situation (on Freya’s orders). Lansing ends up taking a bullet to the head just before he can say too much.
The Son’s Biological Parents
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 6
The Father and his son remain mysterious throughout The Night Agent season 3, to the point that we never actually learn either of their names. What the show does reveal, however, is that the Son isn’t actually the Father’s biological child. He instead belonged to one of the assassin’s marks. During a flashback scene, The Father successfully gasses the home of the unnamed husband and wife, but when he discovers their infant in another room, he takes the boy as his own.
Jacob Monroe’s Security Detail
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 6
Jacob Monroe made the mistake of confronting Freya Myers about her targeting his daughter, Isabel. This leads the Walcott Capital Bank CEO to order the Father to head to Monroe’s home to finally get Isabel out of the game. Thankfully, Isabel ultimately survives. However, the same can’t be said for the security detail tasked with protecting the home and its inhabitants.
Sofia De Leon
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 7
A flashback sequence in The Night Agent season 3, episode 7, delves into Jacob Monroe’s backstory, revealing how he became the villainous Broker and Isabel’s father. Turns out, he wasn’t always a monster. He had once been in love with a woman from Mexico City named Sofia. However, when arms dealer Raul Zapata discovers that someone among his ranks was leaking information to the FBI, he came to believe it was Sofia rather than Monroe. Zapata set Sofia up and had her sent to prison, where she died shortly after giving birth to Isabel.
Jacob Monroe
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 8
Jacob Monroe made some desperate attempts for redemption, but he failed to earn his daughter’s acceptance or forgiveness. While he might have had a chance once he successfully turned over his cache of intelligence, he never got that far. President Hagan decided it was time to finally take Monroe off the table, ensuring he wouldn’t share the details of his involvement in the previous election. He called Adam, who assassinated Monroe before he had a chance to turn himself in to the FBI.
LSF Members
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 9
With Jay’s help, Peter finally figured out what Zapata and the LSF were planning for their next terrorist attacks. They tracked down the bombs to the shipping company that had been receiving those illegally maneuvered funds through Walcott Capital Bank and mounted their attack. The truck full of explosives was submerged under the water, but between the firefight and that big boom, several LSF members were killed.
Raul Zapata
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 9
Jacob Monroe’s lifelong goal was to hunt down and kill Raul Zapata, and though he died before he could ever see the man get what was coming to him, he at least played a role in the whole thing. Back in episode 8, Monroe agreed to convince Heroes for Healing founder David Hutson, another LSF financier, to give up Zapata’s location. This information was passed to the president, who was eventually able to order the strike.
The President’s Night Action Assassins
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 10
President Hagan assigned several of his old military buddies, including Adam, to Night Action. This essentially meant he had a bunch of loyal agents willing to carry out any violent order without question. When it becomes clear that Isabel, Peter, Chelsea, and Freya are close to revealing all POTUS’s big dark secrets, he brings all hands on deck to take them out. This leads to a mad rush of violence as Peter desperately fights to get Freya to Isabel so she can drop the big story. They ultimately make it, but several of POTUS’s agents do not.
Freya Myers
The Night Agent Season 3, Episode 10
Freya Myers was among The Night Agent season 3’s nastiest characters. However, she proved pivotal in the president’s downfall. The information she passed on to the FBI earned her some undeserved freedom, but Freya made one significant mistake—she threatened to kill anyone The Father cared about. The assassin naturally wouldn’t let that go. The last we see of Freya at the end of The Night Agent season 3, she’s about to drink the same poison previously used to kill Mike Fonseca.
