Family and digital violence are the most reported by women in the capital, according to a report released this Monday by the Citizen Council for Security and Justice of Mexico City, within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated on November 25.
The Council indicated that, between 2019 and so far in 2025, it has attended to 146,682 cases of gender violence, through the Safety Line, the Trust Chat and *765-911.
“85% of them correspond to family violence, followed by digital violence (7%), sexual abuse (5%), rape (2%) and sexual harassment (1%),” the Council noted in a statement.
In addition, the agency warned that 17% of these cases “present a feminicide risk.”
Regarding digital violence, the report indicates that the most affected are young women, with almost 30% of the victims between 21 and 35 years old. “Girls and adolescents are also among the most exposed groups,” it is mentioned.
“Digital violence has a real impact, our data demonstrates gender vulnerability in cyberspace,” declared María Elena Esparza, Gender Advisor.

At the same time, Esparza pointed out that the Council joins the global call of UN Women to make this type of sexist violence visible during the 16 days of activism for this international day.
The organization also warned that, of all the reports received between 2019 and 2025 – a figure not specified -, 56% of digital attacks were directed at women, and seven out of ten reported having suffered cyberbullying.
While in reports of sexual violence, the population of women represents 86% of the total victims.
“This trend is maintained in the specific age ranges: among the minor population, 57% of those affected are girls, and in the group of older people, 69% of the victims are female,” he explained.
Finally, he pointed out that 88% of those who request help are the victims themselves, who communicate mainly by phone call (63%) or WhatsApp (31%).
87% of the reports of women come from Mexico City, mainly from the Venustiano Carranza, Iztapalapa, Iztacalco, Cuauhtémoc and Azcapotzalco municipalities.
Other states that have contacted the capital’s Council are the State of Mexico (3,682), Jalisco (443) and Puebla (416).
