The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported this Wednesday the arrest in Puebla of Eduardo ‘N’, a former public servant accused of possible participation in embezzlement and organized crime, in an investigation linked to the former head of federal Public Security Genaro García Luna (2006-2012), currently imprisoned in the United States.
In a message to the media, the FGR spokesperson and head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Investigation of Relevant Matters, Ulises Lara, explained that the capture was carried out by agents of the Federal Ministerial Police and derived from an investigation by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (Femdo).
The official noted that, between December 2008 and August 2013, the detainee allegedly “signed service contracts” for various Federal Social Rehabilitation Centers (Ceferesos) that were under the responsibility of García Luna when he headed the Ministry of Public Security between 2006 and 2012.
