Mexico City.- Banamex improved its forecast on the Mexican economy by 2025 when considering that it will no longer stagnate, but will advance 0.4%.
The Financial Group presented in an analysis note that, when considering the information available for June, estimates a zero monthly or stagnation variation for the global indicator of economic activity (IGAE), which would imply a growth of GDP in the second quarter of 0.4% compared to the previous period.
That calculation, he added, is superior to the previous prognosis of 0.2% for the second quarter of the year.
“This would have impacts in the second half of the year, so we now estimate the growth of GDP of 2025 to 0.4%, from 0.0% before,” he explained.

The economic activity of the country measured through the IGAE stagnated in May with respect to the previous month, according to de -stationalized data published Tuesday by the INEGI.
At an annual rate, the IGAE in May grew 0.4%, rate less than 1.2% recorded in April.
The IGAE, which does not include agricultural activities, would have advanced 0.2% in June, according to preliminary figures published last week by the Statistics Institute.
