The international tourism fair in Madrid, Fitur 2026, foresees the presence of some 10,000 companies, 550 more than a year before (5.5% more), dedicated to all types of activities and services related to leisure and travel.
The 46th edition of Fitur, from January 21 to 25, 2026, will open the annual tourism calendar with “excellent forecasts for participation and content”, and Mexico as a partner country, the organizers highlighted this Thursday in a statement.
The fair, one of the most important in the world, will be held at a “spectacular” moment for the sector that, according to the latest data published by UN Tourism, reflects a clear recovery in international tourism, with a 5% year-on-year increase in arrivals until September 2025, up to 1.1 billion travelers.
We recommend: International tourism in Mexico grew 11% in October
Fitur will seek to promote innovation in tourism
Unlike previous occasions, Fitur will officially open on the second day, on January 22, “consolidating itself again as the global tourism platform of reference for the entire industry value chain.”
One of the great novelties of Fitur 2026 is the Knowledge Pavilion, an edition that is “especially dynamic, innovative and aligned with the challenges of the sector.”
Fitur will be “the epicenter of debate and innovation on the lines that are defining the future of an increasingly responsible and technological industry,” the organizers point out.
