For the Day of the Dead, these are the destinations that come to life for Mexicans

Heading towards the celebration of the Day of the Dead in Mexico, Mexicans are looking at certain destinations in the country to visit and give free rein to the celebration.

For 6 out of 10 Mexicans, these holidays are a good time to travel, and they get ready to do so, according to the business solutions company People Media,

26% say that for the dates around the Day of the Dead they will visit a traditional town, while 18% plan to go to a beach, and 16% to one of the country’s large cities, People Media stated, citing the results of a survey he conducted a few weeks ago.

Likewise, according to this survey, sites in Oaxaca, Michoacán, Mexico City and San Luis Potosí will be the most visited by both national and foreign tourists.

For the travel platform Booking, Michoacán and Oaxaca also appear in their records as the most desired destinations in the country for celebrations, but also Guanajuato.

Information queries to visit Michoacán have increased 410%, but to visit Guanajuato they have more than doubled, registering a spike of 142%, details information shared by Booking.

Although some destinations in the country are more popular for celebrating the dead, events and installation of altars are held in all parts of the country.

According to the business chambers grouped in the Concanaco Servytur, the Day of the Dead festivity this 2024 will generate a spill of 45,318 million pesos, which represents an increase of 10% compared to the previous year.
