MEXICO CITY.- After the arrest of two brothers of Mexican nationality at the Florida Detentions Center known as El Alcatraz de los Caimanes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) assured that the case is already attended, according to a note from the Quadratín Mexico Agency.

The Foreign Ministry said that it monitors the situation of the two brothers and a specialist from the Mexican persons legal assistance program is supporting them.

“On the case of two nationals, brothers, arrested at the Everglades immigration detention center, in Florida, the @sre_MX communicates that @Consulmexorl and @Consulmexmia are aware of their cases and are providing consular assistance and protection,” he said.

“A lawyer from the Mexican People Legal Program (Pale) is supporting with both cases, while consulates maintain permanent communication with family members, to inform them about the advances related to their detention and the next scheduled visits, while a solution is given to their situation,” he added.

Quadratín recalled that Carlos Martín, a 26 -year -old Mexican, traveled to the United States as a tourist and despite having a current visa, was arrested on July 7 for a transit infraction and sent to Aligator Alcatraz, the prison for migrants recently built by Donald Trump in Florida.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed on Monday that his brother was also arrested.
