Given the persistence of the legal conflict between Fox Sports Mexico and Fox Corporation, a new chapter was opened and given the recent statements of the last, Fox Sports Mexico announced a statement where it remains in its position by underlining that “our right to use the Fox Sports brand in Mexico derives from a contract in which Fox Corporation is not a part”.
Likewise, the licensee rejected the position of the parent company, maintaining that “no declaration of Fox Corporation can lead to its early termination, nor can it prevent us from using said brand in accordance with the corresponding contract.”
In the same vein, Fox Sports Mexico explained that “in relation to the above, we clarify that the contract that regulates the use of the brand in Mexico remains in force (for a period of at least 5 years, as of November 2021) and is exclusive. Therefore, Fox Corporation’s alleged statements in relation to the alleged termination of the license have no legal effect, nor do they impact its validity in any way. ”
In order to ratify his commitment to his audience, fans, work plant and commercial partners, Fox Sports Mexico closed the statement stating that “it continues to operate normally.”
