Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will introduce new, intense stakes, challenges, and characters to the series, including the Planet-eater Moro. Anime fans who have yet to experience the arc firsthand are in for many great and unforgettable moments; however, there are some that stand out above the rest, and the anime must do them justice.
Moro’s Debut
Moro’s introduction to the series is what will instantly set the tone for what stands as one of Dragon Ball’s darkest and most intense arcs. His design is meant to look ancient and dangerous, giving off an eerie aura and effectively distinguishing him from other villains in the series.
The anime has a chance to amplify his presence and truly give off a sense of danger and ominousness. Moro’s first appearance in the series is a moment that needs to convey the weight of how dangerous he truly is as a universal threat, despite his initial appearance.
Merus’ Backstory
Merus is introduced as a top-ranking Galactic Patrolman who quickly impresses both the Z-Fighters and audiences with his use of high-tech gadgets and ability to easily catch Gohan. He became known for his calm attitude, confidence, strategic mind, and mysterious nature.
As a character who can match the abilities of elite warriors and his deep knowledge of Ultra Instinct and the Room of Spirit and Time, many fans knew there was something more to him than what met the eye.
It was later revealed that Merus is an Angel-in-training after Whis stops him from training Goku, revealing that if he continued to interfere with mortal affairs, Merus could be erased.
Gohan and Piccolo vs. Seven-Three
Seven-Three is a dangerous, emotionless android who possesses the ability to copy the powers and techniques of anyone he touches on the neck. He’s a high-ranking member of the Galactic Bandit Brigade who was released from the Galactic Patrol Prison by Moro.
With his intelligence, adaptability, and lethal combat skills, he presents a dangerous, intense challenge for Gohan and Piccolo. In the manga, the battle stood out for showcasing Gohan and Piccolo’s ability to function as a unit to take down a common enemy, despite the rapidly evolving battlefield.
Vegeta Mastering Forced Spirit Fission
Vegeta’s Forced Spirit Fission is a game-changing technique that allows him to split and neutralize energy attacks, including ones that previously seemed unstoppable. With this new skill, Vegeta proves himself to have grown beyond brute strength by leaning into clever, strategic tactics to defeat Moro.

Rather than heeding Whis’s warning, Merus directly intervenes in the battle against Moro to stop his copying ability and give the Z-Fighters a chance to win before Moro destroys the universe. As an Angel trainee bound by strict rules, this action rids him of his immortality, leading to his erasure by the Grand Priest.
Merus was driven by his strong sense of justice and grew attached to Goku, leading him to intervene. While he is later resurrected as a mortal, the moment stands out as an epic, emotionally charged rescue that gives Goku and his allies another chance at victory.
Goku Perfecting Ultra Instinct
Goku’s Mastery of Ultra Instinct marks a massive turning point in the battle against Moro and stands out as one of the hero’s most epic moments. Rather than relying on extreme conditions to activate the technique, Goku learns how to use it at will, enabling him to dominate the battle against Moro.
This moment stood out in the manga because it challenged Goku as a warrior and delivered thrilling action sequences. Audiences can imagine how the sequence will look fully animated, likely to deliver on scale, sound design, and fight choreography.
Moro Overpowering Goku and Vegeta
